Biography :
Elder and Sister Cluff lived in Virginia for 29 years before they retired and came to Austin Texas on a CES mission. Bro. Cluff has a PhD in Economics from the Pennsylvania State University and Sister Cluff has an MA in English from BYU. While in graduate school Bro. Cluff taught economics at Penn State, then went on to work for the federal government until he retired. After her children were older Sister Cluff taught English at a local college for 15 years. They are the parents of four children and grandparents of five.

Biography :
Lynden has been an avid scholar of the gospel all of his life. His energetic personality and thirst for in-depth knowledge of the scriptures make him an exciting teacher. He is employed at Applied Materials, has six children, and his hobbies include reading, martial arts, and playing the bagpipes (self-taught!). He began teaching at the Austin Institute in Spring 2005. He's taught the Writings of John, Isaiah, and Sharing the Gospel.

Biography :
Brother Hopkin and his wife and four children live in Pflugerville. For 8 years he was a full-time Seminary teacher in the Provo, Utah area. He is very active in coordinating and presenting at EFY. He has a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Near Eastern Studies from BYU. He is currently working on a PhD in Hebrew Studies at UT. He speaks three languages. Brother Hopkin will be on sabbatical during the fall 2009 and spring 2010 semesters.

Biography :
Brother Johnson began his Seminaries and Institutes career as an early-morning Seminary teacher in Reno, Nevada. For the past eleven years he has taught full-time Seminary in Davis County, Utah. Brother Johnson received his Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from The University of Nevada, Reno, his Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at Weber State Univeristy (Utah), and his Doctorate in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Utah State University. Brother Johnson served a full-time mission in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Mission and has most recently served as a Gospel Doctrine Instructor, Bishop and High Councilor. Brother Johnson met his beautiful wife, Deverie Earl while attending the YSA ward in Reno, Nevada. They were married in The Oakland Temple and have 6 wonderful children. Brother Johnson enjoys time being with his family, serving in the Church, and playing in the outdoors.

Biography :
Sister Townsend came to the Institute in January, 2004. She has a BA in English from BYU. She has served as a Young Women's President, Stake/Ward Camp Director for 20 years, Early-morning Seminary teacher for 17 years, and Institute teacher. She served with her husband who was mission president in Nicaragua from 1995-1998. She has written a book on scripture teaching techniques. She and her husband have 6 children and 22 grandchildren

Biography :
Brother Wright and his wife live in Austin. They are the parents of 5 children. He holds a BS from BYU, MS from Lamar University, PhD from BYU. He is a frequent speaker at Education Week, Know Your Religion and Especially For Youth. He is the author of several books relating to families, parenting and the media. He taught at BYU and also owned his own catering business. He has served as a bishop, counselor in a mission presidency, Seminary teacher, and many other callings.

Biography :
Karlo Zatylny battles through life as the father of triplets plus one. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and a Master's Degree in Software Engineering. Originally born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Karlo is fond of many outdoor activities including rock climbing, skiing, snowboarding, and biking. When not confronted by computer problems, Karlo enjoys learning about different cultures and philosophies to aid in his critical-thinking skills and help in the engagement of deep self-reflection. He enjoys startling Mandarin Chinese speakers by inconspicuously listening in on a conversation and then responding in their native tongue. Brother Zatylny tries to live life with the most appropriate amount of humor which is to say there is no serious side to him. Karlo loves the scriptures and any lively discussion about gospel doctrine.
