Biography :
Ed + Linda are the "chefs" for Friday Forum at the West Institute. Ed came to Lethbridge, from England, when he was 15 years of age. He married the former Linda Palmer, and they are the parents of 3 daughters and have 4 grandchildren. Ed joined the church in 1986. He is a talented actor, director, designer, and artist. His job as Manager of the Genevieve E. Yates Memorial Centre, allowed him to blend both his talents and interests and his work, for nearly 35 years. He is the recipient of the Alberta Achievement Award, for outstanding contribution to theatre. He is also an Honorary Life Member of Lethbridge Musical Theatre and together with Linda, Honorary Life Members of Playgoers of Lethbridge, the oldest drama society in Canada. Sister Bayly was Executive Director of the Lethbridge and District Kiwanis Music and Speech Arts Festival for 21 years and served for 14 years on the board of the Alberta Music Festival Association and is currently President of Playgoers of Lethbridge. Church callings have included Ward Mission Leader, Sunday School Teachers, Primary Teacher, Primary President, Relief Society President and they are currently serving as Church Service Missionaries. Elder Bayly is an avid fly fisherman, and enjoys playing golf. Sister Bayly loves being a Grandma, spending time with friends, reading and travelling.

Biography :
Brent was born and raised in Taber Alberta by Bruce and Sandy Francis. he attended W.R. Myers High School and graduated from there in 2002. Brent had the privilege of serving in the Florida Jacksonville Mission from 2003 to 2005, which he says was the best decision of his life to that point. In August of 2006 he was sealed in the Cardston Temple to his wife Shannon, whom he loves dearly. Brent is now the proud father of a little boy named Ethan. Brent has just finished his studies at the UofL and is currently applying to med schools in the U.S.A. and Canada. This will possibly be the last year he will be teaching at the Lethbridge Institute. He is very excited and humbled by the opportunity to teach Mission Preparation because he loves missionary work and loves to teach the gospel.

Biography :
Brother Reid was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and raised in Olds, Alberta. He joined the Church when he was sixteen. He served a mission in Russia. After his mission he married his amazing wife Stevianne. They now have three wonderful children. Brother Reid received a Bachelors degree in Social work from the University of Calgary and is currently working on a Masters in Education. He has been with Seminaries + Institutes since 2004 and comes to us from Medicine Hat, where he taught Institute, Seminary and coordinated. Brother Reid considers himself a "good sport" meaning that he enjoys participating in and tries activities that are "virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy". He is excited to associate with the young adults in the Lethbridge area.

Biography :
Brother Spencer was raised in Edmonton. He grew up loving to play and watch sports; in particular basketball, golf and hockey. From 1996-1998, he served a mission in the Taiwan, Taipei Mission. Upon returning home, he attended Grant MacEwan and the UofA where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. During this time a sweet girl named Rachael, who was attending BYU won his heart and Brother Spencer put his education on hold to get married and allow her to finish her degree in Violin Performance. While living in Utah, Rachael gave birth to twin boys. In 2002, they returned to Edmonton. Brother Spencer graduated in 2003 and walked out of the convocation ceremonies and got into a car with some CES men and travelled to his first meeting, thus beginning his career in Seminaries and Institutes. The Spencer family lives in Raymond where he taught seminary for 6 years and they have added two more boys to the clan, with one on the way. Church service (Elders Quorum President) a Masters degree, wrestling on the carpet with 4 little boys and playing disc golf takes up most of Brother Spencer's time.

Biography :
Kathy has been the full time secretary at the Lethbridge Institute for the past 23 years. She served a mission to the beautiful blue grass state of Kentucky. When she isn't at work she enjoys hiking, camping, curling and playing racquetball. She has also been known to be adventurous, taking a trip by motorcycle to Ottawa and wind surfing across Park Lake. Kathy loves the young adults and has made many friends over the years and has attended many weddings and baby showers!

Biography :
Br. Thompson was born in Lethbridge and raised both in Lethbridge and Medicine Hat. He served a mission in Belgium and France and then went to BYU for his undergraduate degree. There he met Jeannette when they were members of the same single adult ward. Sister Thompson was born and raised in Panama where she joined the Church as a teenager. They were married at the end of the school year and after finishing his degree they moved to Calgary so Jerry could go to law school. He has been practicing law in Lethbridge for the past 25 years. Jeannette has been teaching Spanish at the College for the past 21 years. They have four children and one grandchild. They love serving in the Church. Jerry has served as a clerk, High Priests group leader, High Counselor, Bishop's Counselor, Ward Mission Leader and Bishop of a YSA Ward. Jeannette has served as Primary Secretary, Primary teacher, nursery leader, Young Women's leader, Relief Society President, Ward Missionary and Family History Consultant. They are excited to serve together as Church Service Missionaries and look forward to teaching the Gospel Beginnings class.

Biography :
Stacy was born and raised in Cardston Alberta. She and her husband Eric are the parents of 4 children. They have 2 boys and 2 girls. They are grandparents to one little girl! Stacy is modest about her musical talent but she is a very accomplished pianist. Give her a sheet of music and she can play it! Stacy currently teaches Seminary and is a teacher in the Relief Society . She also enjoys hiking, biking (you may see her on the westside hill), and running marathons. Stacy is a very busy person and she is looking forward to the challenge of Directing the Institute Choir.

Biography :
Brother Wood was born and raised in North Vancouver, BC. He and his wife, Marilyn, are the parents of 5 children and the grandparents of 6. They were married in the Ogden Temple shortly after Brother Wood returned from the Quebec Mission. Brother Wood received a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Simon Fraser University. He was hired by the Church Educational System in 1979 and moved to Cardston to teach Seminary. While in Cardston he completed his Masters degree in Family Science at BYU. In 1991 Br. Wood was awarded a research fellowship at BYU and moved to Utah for 3 years. During this time he taught at BYU and earned a Doctorate degree in Family Science. He currently serves as the Ward High Priest group leader. He has participated in and coached sports for most of his life. He spends much of his free time working in and enjoying his yard.
