Biography :
Elder and Sister Barrett come to us from beautiful Cache Valley, UT, where Elder Berrett retired from the Logan Institute of Religion with a career in CES. The Barrett’s have also served at the Jerusalem Center in the Holy Land. Each summer they have taken tour groups there to help others ‘walk where Jesus walked’. Sister Berrett is a very accomplished piano/organist with virtually perfect pitch. She, along with Sister Cochran, has taken our Institute Choir to new heights, with regular concerts and a variety of other performances. Elder Berrett, with his expertise in the Holy Land has taught Old & New Testaments, The Gospel and the Productive Life, & Presidents of the Church. They are here for 18 months on their first of many CES missions.

Elder and Sister Blackwell came to us last June from Provo, UT. Elder Blackwell is a retired CES instructor and Sister Blackwell taught elementary education for over 17 years. Both are amazing teachers and bring with them a love for young people. The Blackwell’s love to team-teach their classes. Currently they teach Mission Prep, Church History, Scripture Study – The Power of the Word, & Doctrine & Covenants. They will be here for 18 months serving the youth of the Kingdom.

Biography :
Elder and Sister Cochran came to us from sunny Arizona. Because of the vacancy left by the absence of the Spencer’s the Cochran’s received their mission assignment at the end of 2008 and were asked to be here to teach the second week of January 2009. So they cut their MTC/CES training bit short and zoomed across the country. They arrived just two days before the Spring 2009 semester began and were fired up ready to teach. Elder Cochran is a retired CES employee having taught seminary and institute for over 30 years. Sister Cochran is amazing at assisting Sister Gibbons in our S&I office and works closely with Sister Barrett and our Institute Choir. Elder Cochran teaches Celestial Marriage, Book of Mormon and New Testament.

Biography :
Brother Moss is a full-time institute faculty member for his fifth year and came to us from Eastern North Carolina, where he was a CES coordinator for 8 years. He advises the Institute of Religion student council and teaches New Testament, Book of Mormon, the Book of Revelation and the Pearl of Great Price. David and Heidi are the parents of four great children.

Biography :
Brother Stuart is the Institute Director for his fifth year since being on the institute faculty here in Buena Vista for two years previously. He has been teaching in Buena Vista for 10 years. He teaches Teachings of the Living Prophets, The Gospel and the Productive Life, Book of Mormon, Preparing for a Celestial Marriage, Introduction to Family History, and handles the administrative responsibilities of the Institute. Brother Stuart also coordinates the seminary program in the Buena Vista Stake. Richard and his wife Pamela are the parents of five wonderful children.
