Welcome to InstituteThe San Luis Obispo Institute is located adjacent to Cal Poly State University across the street from the football stadium. It also serves Cuesta College students and other young adults residing in the area. The Institute provides a place where students can gather together for religious instruction, fun activities, and meaningful service opportunities. It is known by the students as their "Home away from Home."

  • Parables of Jesus

    The Parables of Jesus is being taught on Wed Evening. The class is listed as a Special Studies/Ancient Scripture class. Fall Institute Classes start on Sept 23!

  • Social Dance Class

    Come and boogie at the Insitute Social Dance class starting on Sept 24 fro 8pm - 9pm. Register on line 031R-70 Devotinal and Lecture Series.

  • Institute Missionaies

    We are so excited about all our new service missionaries this year. The following individuals have accepted the call to serve at the Institute: Lisa Abbott, Joan Miles, Nina Chapman, Mickey & Janice Wallwork, Ann Grant, Bonnie Ilg, David & Sharon Molloy and Sue McKee. We look forward to having them join us this fall.

  • Institute Choir

    Come a let your voice be heard. The choir will be singing for Stake Conference in January - we need your voice. Please come and join us on Wednesday Evenings at 8pm

  • Service Corner

    On Going -
    A great opportunity to serve is here at the Institute. This year we have a service corner. Right now we are focusing on making baby quilts for Humanitarian Aide. We have a goal of completing 50 quilts by the end of Dec 09. You're invited to come and help us reach our goal!

  • Young Married's Seminar

    2nd Friday of the Month - 6:30pm -8:00pm
    Held the 2nd Friday of the month. Enjoy a night out with your spouse at the Institute Bldg. There will be a fireside & a wonderful dinner.

  • Quilts for the ALPHA Program

    Ongoing - Any
    This quarter the students at the San Luis Institute of Religion are working on tied baby quilts to be donated to the ALPHA program, a group which works with unwed mothers to help them take their babies to fullterm and give them up for adoption to families. The goal is 50 quilts by the end of the Quarter. We are well on our way....could always use another hand or two.

  • Friday Forum

    Every Friday - 12 noon
    Each Friday we have forum and lunch. Subjects on Time management, Communications, The Temple, Missionary work with our friends. Always followed by a great lunch.
