Come and sing with us! We have two choirs to choose from, both under the direction of Brother Steve Schank: The Salt Lake Institute Singers (our audition-only choir) meets every M, W, + F from 2:15 to 3:15 PM. The Institute Singers will perform at Institute firesides with General Authority speakers, as well as in concerts at the Salt Lake Tabernacle and Assembly Hall on Temple Square. Auditions for new members will be held on Aug. 19th-21st (W-F) from 11 AM to 1 PM in the choir room (W012). Sign up for an audition time at the main institute office (801-582-6506). Please prepare to sing one verse of any hymn, unaccompanied; all else will be provided. Questions? Contact the director, Steve Schank, at SchankSP@ldsces.org. The Institute Choir (non-auditioned) meets every Tuesday evening from 6:30-8:00 PM. The Institute Choir will perform in sacred music firesides and concerts at the institute as well as a Christmas concert at Temple Square. Come Tuesday nights, and bring a friend! The institute through LDS Church Food Services provides a deli for students and others during the hours of 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday-Friday in the Fall and Spring Semesters. Students may purchase sandwiches, pizza, soup, salads, deserts, etc. Vending machines and microwave ovens are also available.
A Deseret First Credit Union ATM is available for use whenever the Institute is open. There is no transaction fee for those who are members of the credit union co-op system.
Adults 31 and older are invited to attend BYU Continuing Education classes held throughout the Salt Lake Valley. A schedule of those classes is available at www.byu.edu/ces or by calling 1-800-992-1014.
